Carla Roter, Nurse/Director, The Colon Therapy Health & Education Centre

“Live, Love, Laugh!” This is Carla Roter’s motto—for herself, her family, and everyone she meets. It is impossible not to be affected by Carla’s passionate and compassionate spirit.

Following her years of practice as a nurse, Carla studied colon hydrotherapy in Canada and the United States . She realized her dream when she founded
The Colon Therapy Health & Education Centre and, in 1994, the flagship Colon Hydrotherapy School of Canada . Her approach is holistic and her stated values for the clinic are Respect, Compassion, Accountability, and Pursuit of Excellence. She has now dedicated herself to colon health for 20 years and has performed more than 20,000 treatments.

Carla spent many years looking for the perfect, medically approved system. At last she found the Angel of Water® CM-1 colon hydrotherapy system, which Carla believes is the colonic system of the future. The Colon Therapy Health & Education Centre is proud to be using this state-of-the art, Health Canada-approved system. Carla is now training nurses in the use of this system and is actively looking to train one or two nurses (RNs or RPNs) to work with her at The Colon Therapy Health & Education Centre in Toronto .

Carla strongly believes, from both personal and professional experience, that colon health is an essential component of overall health, and that colon therapy complements other forms of health care—medical, naturopathic, physiotherapeutic, chiropractic, nutritional—in an integrated health care environment. In Carla’s view, colon hydrotherapy does not replace conventional medical treatment; it is an extension to it. Carla often works closely with her clients’ other health care practitioners, in particular, to prepare patients for radiological and endoscopic examinations
.

Carla’s greatest hope is that the funds required for much-needed research can be raised so that the practice of colon hydrotherapy can gain the credibility it deserves.
